Isles of Bute, Jura and Islay, 2015

A fantastic week touring these Scottish Islands. The event was brilliantly organised by Frank Hodgkins and the 20 Model Ts returned from Scotland unscathed, despite some near misses! You will see the photos of Peter and Julie Lawrence's car which fell off the road at Jura but after a tow and a lift the car was back on the road without issue; such is the resiliance of the Model T! We were so lucky to have a whole week of sunshine making the stunning sceneray even more spectacular.

Peak District, June 2015

Rob Lorch's car celebrated it's 100th birthday! Two lovely days touring through the Dales despite some rain. A joint MTFR and VCC event with a good turnout of vehicles.

Bicester Flywheel, July 2015

An amazing weekend for this new event. Despite some wet weather a great display of vintage race cars on the figure of eight track. We were also treated to an aerial display of some splendid vintage aircraft.

What a sight the Bentley Packard was with flames streaming out of the exhausts! This monster had a 42 litre engine and used 4 gallons of fuel per minute!

The Golden Ford had to retire due to a clutch failure so my 1911 tourer was substituted instead - amazingly it wasn't the slowest car on the track!!

Bronze Ford Tour - Scotland, July 2015

Twelve Model Ts started from all over Scotland to congregate at Fort William. The main group started from Kilmarnock and drove to Fort William via Dunfermline on the Friday. A wonderful day on Saturday with some lovely photographs of the Ts and the Jacobite steam train, as well as a drive down the Caledonian canal tow path.  All drivers and cars were warmly met by the residents of Fort William and a civic reception was held in the evening. A further £12,500 was raised for the Bronze Ford fund. The return drive was down the west coast via Arran. All the Ts did 400 miles without fault!

Pendine Sands, July 2015

A fun weekend at Pendine Sands but the inclement weather only allowed one run per day for each car. The wind on the first day kept the tide in longer than expected and a thunder storm on the second day flooded the beach for over an hour. Not many records broken this year and the Golden Ford speed was down to just over 65mph (compared to last years 70mph +).

A Bit of a Do, August 2015

A lovley weekend, albeit a damp Friday, organised by Frank Hodgkins. Some great touring over Kirkstone pass and along Ullswater. Some cross country driving in Patterdale including an interesting tour of a local timber mill. On Sunday we had a run to Morcambe bay. Oh! And it was Freda's 100th birthday - someone wrapped her up...!
